Kelsey Turner - Board Member

Kelsey attended high school at R.A. McMath Secondary School and graduated in 2009. After graduating, Kelsey took time off to travel to Mexico and Australia, but in 2011, she began attending Kwantlen Polytechnic University for a BA in history. Soon after that, Kelsey transitioned into a BA in anthropology, and recently graduated with distinction in the Summer of 2016. Currently, Kelsey is working at Bosley’s, but is also helping out as a lab assistant at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s anthropology department. In the near future, Kelsey is hoping to work as a coroner in BC’s coroner service.  Kelsey joined DOTL to help encourage students to continue their educational and professional careers to their fullest extent.

Justin Hanna - Board Member

Justin attended Fleetwood Park Secondary School and graduated in 2012; he immediately began pursuing a post secondary career majoring in Anthropology. Justin is currently in his final year at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and will graduate with his BA in Spring of 2017. Currently, Justin is working part time at Morgan Creek Golf Course, where he works in both the backshop as well as the golf shop, but is hoping to begin his career as an archaeologist in the near future. Through this foundation, Justin hopes to help create positive change throughout the community by providing opportunities for young people. 

Manpreet Athwal - Vice President

Manpreet attended North Surrey Secondary School and graduated in 2011, after which she decided to pursue a BA in psychology, along with an AA in anthropology. She graduated from KPU in Fall of 2016. Manpreet is currently working as a program coordinator for Adam’s Apples Foundation and volunteers at the Fraser Health Crisis Line. In the future she hopes to be a social worker, specializing in helping youths reach their goals and aspirations. Manpreet is hoping to use DOTL as a launching pad for helping young people in her local community.

DOTL is a not-for-profit organization determined to discover and financially aid passionate and driven individuals dedicated to improving and bettering their local communities.

Elpiniki McKave - Board Member

Elpiniki went to Langley Secondary School, which she graduated from in 2010. Immediately after graduating from high school, Elpiniki began pursuing post secondary education majoring in Political Science, afterwards adding in a major of Anthropology, as well as completing her certificate for NGO non-profit studies. Elpiniki graduated with her double major in summer of 2016 from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She is currently working as a research assistant with Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s anthropology department. Additionally, Elpiniki does respite care with individuals with developmental disabilities. Elpiniki loves giving back to the community, and aims to do so through working with the DOTL Foundation.

Jeffrey Hughes - President

Jeffrey attended Hugh Boyd Secondary school and graduated in 2009. After graduating, he pursued a BA in history and an AA in anthropology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He graduated from KPU in 2016. Currently, Jeffrey is working as the head doorman at The Flying Beaver Bar & Grill, and as a courier for FedEx. During his spare time he also volunteers with the RCMP community centre, but is working towards starting his career as a law enforcement officer. Through his participation with DOTL, Jeffrey aims to give back to his local community and provide equal opportunity for all.
